MOSCOW, July 27 (RIA Novosti) – A leak in the Omsk-Irkutsk pipeline cause an oil spill of some three tons in Russia’s west Siberia, emergencies situation officials said on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the oil rich Novosibirsk Region during excavation works on Saturday. According to the Emergencies Situations Ministry, the spill has not affected any waterways.
The ministry’s specialists and representatives of the Transsibneft oil company rushed to the scene and blocked the leakage, the ministry said. It was not immediately clear whether the company was responsible for the incident.
