NALCHIK, July 27 (RIA Novosti) – A burial dating back to the Middle Ages has been discovered recently in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, local police said on Saturday adding that the people might have died of plague.
The burial of human remains founded some eight kilometers from the nearest town of Zayukovo, not far from a local quarry, has been cordoned off by the police, officials said in a statement on Saturday. The forensic experts are to examine the remains, which likely belonged to victims of an outbreak of plague in the region, the police said.
