MOSCOW, July 29 (RIA Novosti) – A woman who teaches “State and Law” classes at a Russian university has been detained on suspicion of possessing heroin, the local anti-narcotics service said in a statement on Monday.
Local police say they seized over 20 grams of heroin during a search of the 31-year-old teacher’s apartment in the town of Dimitrovgrad, in the Ulyanovsk Region.
“A criminal case has been opened … into the attempt to supply a large amount of a narcotic substance,” the statement says, adding that the woman has been detained.
A week ago an English language teacher at a school in the same town was detained while under the influence of heroin, for possession of the drug, Russian media reported.
