MOSCOW, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - A court in Russia's remote republic of Tyva has fined a hunter 1.3 million rubles (almost $40,000) for poaching deer in a protected wildlife sanctuary, the local prosecutor’s office said Tuesday.
Hunter Vyacheslav Danishvar shot 12 Siberian roe deer in the state protected Tyva wildlife sanctuary between December 28 and 30 last year, according to a prosecutor’s statement.
The poacher’s hunting rifle and the animals' carcasses were also confiscated, prosecutors said.
