MOSCOW, September 5 (R-Sport) – American small forward Josh Carter has left Spartak St. Petersburg to join Montepaschi Siena, the Russian team announced Thursday.
The 6-foot-7 Carter spent only one season with Spartak, averaging 10 points and 3.3 rebounds in 21 games of the VTB United League and 12.9 points and 3 rebounds in 14 Eurocup appearances.
Texas A&M graduate Carter went undrafted in the NBA in 2009 and moved to Europe, where he played for German team EWE Baskets and Israel’s Maccabi Ashdod before joining Spartak last summer.
Montenegrin center Vladimir Dragicevic also leaves the club that encountered financial difficulties in the offseason and had to say goodbye to their high-paid players.
Earlier Thursday, American guard Donnie McGrath, formerly of Zalgiris Kaunas, said he had signed with Spartak.
