MOSCOW, September 29 (RIA Novosti) – An American citizen has been detained in downtown Moscow on suspicion of selling knives without the proper authorization, police said Sunday.
The man, whose name has not been disclosed, was detained on Friday on Krasnaya Presnya street as the alleged sale occurred, a police source told RIA Novosti.
Russian media reported that the knives were being sold for tens of thousands of rubles – 10,000 rubles is about $300 – and that police had set up a sting operation acting on a tip.
