MOSCOW, October 1 (RIA Novosti) – A Russian parliamentary committee on Tuesday recommended that lawmakers approve a bill stipulating that fines for deportation of non-Russian citizens should be paid by the next day after being imposed.
According to the Justice Ministry, which drafted the bill, every third deportation fine currently remains unpaid. A possible reason for that is the current legislation allows such fines to be paid within 30 days of being imposed, and most deportees are already out of the country when that period expires.
