Moscow’s third “Circle of Light” festival was held on October 4 to 8, 2013.

The festival coincided with the Moscow segment of the Olympic torch relay, which began on October 6 and would go on to cover all 83 Russian regions.

The festival was organized by City Hall’s Media & Advertising Department.

This year’s festival was held at five main locations: the Luzhniki Olympic stadium, Tsaritsyno Park (pictured), the Digital October high-tech business hub and the facades of the Bolshoi Theater and the Manezh Exhibition Hall near Red Square.

On the opening night, light shows were performed at other locations as well. A French art group projected their show onto the facade of the Bolshoi Theater to the accompaniment of classical music.

Musicians, circus performers and actors took part in the light show at Luzhniki.
