MOSCOW, October 8 (RIA Novosti) – Traveling to Kenya may be dangerous, Russia’s Foreign Ministry has warned Russians.
The ministry said in a statement Monday that Moscow is concerned with tensions remaining high in Kenya following disturbances in the Kenyan port of Mombasa.
“The Russian Foreign Ministry recommends Russian nationals and tour operators to take into account these circumstances when making decisions on tourist trips to Kenya in the near future,” the statement said.
Mombasa has seen clashes between police officers and people angered at the recent murder of a Muslim cleric, Ibrahim Omar, two weeks after a terrorist attack on a shopping mall in the Kenyan capital Nairobi that killed about 70 people.
