MOSCOW, October 9 (RIA Novosti) – Fugitive US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden is going to seek employment in Russia soon, his legal representative said Wednesday.
“I think that he is going to seek employment,” lawyer Anatoly Kucherena said, adding that Snowden currently lives on his previous savings and donations.
“He lives quite modestly in Russia,” the lawyer added.
He said in mid-September that Snowden might engage in human rights campaigning.
Snowden, a computer specialist and former employee of the US National Security Agency (NSA), was the focus of international attention over the summer after he leaked classified evidence of US government surveillance programs to the media.
He fled to Hong Kong and then to Moscow, where he was granted temporary asylum in Russia in late July despite repeated extradition demands from Washington.
