MOSCOW, October 14 (RIA Novosti) – One person was injured in a nitric acid spill at a titanium manufacturing plant in central Russia, the Emergencies Ministry said Monday.
About 0.5 cubic meters of nitric acid leaked during the incident and 10 people were evacuated, according to an Emergencies Ministry spokesperson.
“Initial findings show that one person was injured and was taken to hospital,” the spokesperson said.
The accident took place in the Verkhnaya Salda district of Russia’s Sverdlovsk region near the Ural mountains. The plant is owned by titanium producer VSMPO-AVISMA.
