MOSCOW, October 24 (R-Sport) Russian auto racer Daniil Kvyat will start his Formula One career with runs in Friday practice for next month’s US Grand Prix in Austin and the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paolo, his new team Toro Rosso said Thursday.

Toro Rosso announced Tuesday that Kvyat will replace Daniel Ricciardo next season, when he will be one of at least two Russians on the grid for his home country’s first Formula One Grand Prix.

"The Russian’s F1 career will start in the same way as that of his predecessors at Scuderia Toro Rosso, when he will take over one of our two cars for the first free practice session at the last two Grands Prix of the year in Austin and Sao Paolo," Toro Rosso said in a website statement.

Red Bull's Italy-based second team added that Kvyat would also be given testing time in a two-year-old F1 car to fulfil the mileage requirement for an FIA Superlicense.

The trip to Austin means Kvyat will miss a Formula Three race in Macau, his current team Carlin said in a website statement.

Kvyat, 19, has been racing in two series this year: He is second in the GP3 series with one round remaining, and has won a race in F3, where he is classified as a guest driver ineligible for points.
