MOSCOW, October 26 (RIA Novosti) – Masked men tied up an on-duty security guard at a Moscow vocational college and stole over 1.6 million rubles from an ATM on the premises, a spokesman for the city’s Interior Ministry press service said Saturday.
The security guard told police that three masked men broke the lock on a side service door into the college in southeastern Moscow at about 2:30 a.m. After binding the guard’s hands and feet with duct tape, the thieves broke into the ATM, took the cash, and left – absconding with 1.65 million rubles ($52,000), police said.
The spokesman added that a criminal case has been opened into the theft.
