MOSCOW, October 31 (RIA Novosti) – Russia was named seventh best country for expatriates in an annual survey involving more than 7,000 expats worldwide and described as one of the largest of its kind.
HSBC Expat Explorer analyzes three major criteria for various countries - quality of life as a foreigner, the opportunity to make money and conditions for raising kids.
China topped the list, followed by Germany, Singapore, Cayman Islands, Australia, Canada and Russia.
The Expat Explorer survey, now in its sixth year, was conducted by independent research company YouGov for HSBC Expat. A total of 7,004 expats from nearly 100 countries took part in the online poll that ran from April, 29 to June, 11, 2013.
In July, Mercer Human Resource Consulting named Russian capital Moscow as the world’s second most expensive city for expatriates, because of high costs for rental accommodation and a high premium on imported goods and services commonly purchased by expats.
