MOSCOW, November 2 (RIA Novosti) – A woman in the northern Russian city of Murmansk was so incensed by the behavior of a visiting friend’s children toward her pedigree puppies that she attacked her guests with a knife, regional police said Saturday.
The incident occurred when a mother took her two young daughters along with her to visit a friend, the police said in a statement.
“After drinking liquor together, a quarrel broke out among the two women, according to preliminary information, over how the children were treating the hostess’s pedigree puppies,” the statement said.
The owner of the puppies, described in the statement as a 44 or 45-year-old woman, stabbed her friend in the stomach and chest, police said. The friend’s 11-year-old daughter sustained multiple injuries to her stomach and chest, as well as cuts to her face and hands, while the girl’s eight-year-old sister sustained stab wounds to her forearms, the statement said.
The injured parties were taken to a hospital, while the suspected attacker was arrested, police said.
