MOSCOW, November 3 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday signed legislation to create a federal science fund intended to provide grants to domestic researchers as well as international projects.
The fund is designed to be more flexible in allocating money than the previously responsible state agencies were.
The fund’s board of trustees will comprise 15 people, including a general director appointed for a term of up to five years by Russia’s president, according to statement posted on the government’s legal information website.
