SOCHI, November 13 (RIA Novosti) – The city of Sochi said Tuesday that it was removing derelict cars from its streets ahead of the Winter Olympics in February.
About 400 derelict vehicles had been identified as of Tuesday. Of those, 138 had been claimed by their owners, whereas 70 had been towed away, the city said.
Special commissions to identify such vehicles have been set up in each district of the Black Sea resort city.
The owners of the vehicles are being told to remove them from the streets or face fines. If a vehicle has no clear owner, a note is left on its windshield.
