MOSCOW, November 16 (RIA Novosti) – A shepherd in central Russia has fatally stabbed his guest in the heart, apparently in a jealous rage, local investigators said Saturday.
The 56-year-old victim, a former convict, who had arrived from a monastery in the Republic of Mordovia, was staying in the shepherd’s house in a village in the Nizhny Novgorod region, when the incident occurred on Wednesday.
“When the guest started hugging the woman, the jealous man stabbed him in the heart,” investigators said. The victim was taken to a hospital and died later despite the efforts by doctors to save him.
The shepherd faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted.
