MOSCOW, November 16 (RIA Novosti) − Head of Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Chechnya and a member of Bahrain’s ruling royal family have reached an agreement to establish a joint international airline.
The local government reported Saturday that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov held talks with Bahrain's sheikh Fawaz Khalifa over a plan to open the airline that would do international flights to the Russian republic’s capital of Grozny in the predominantly Muslim turbulent region of the North Caucasus.
The new airline, which was not named in the report, will fly from Grozny airport to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Bahrain, the statement said.
The deal is scheduled to be signed within days, it said.
