Buddhist monks greeted the Sochi Olympic flame as it arrived in the Eastern Siberian Republic of Buryatia on Friday.

The Olympic flame was first taken to the capital of the Buryat Republic, Ulan-Ude.

After that, the flame visited the important Ivolginsky Datsan, the first Buddhist temple built in the USSR after World War II, marking the rebirth of religion in the country.
