MOSCOW, November 24 (RIA Novosti) – Russian police said Sunday they had detained four suspects over the murder of three hunters in the southern Volgograd Region last night.
“Police commandos from the Vektor special forces unit arrested four local people in a raid on a private home in the town of Mikhailovka,” local police said in a statement.
Three people from a hunting group were shot dead and one wounded Saturday, including an employee of the Prosecutor General’s office.
The killers loaded the three victims' bodies into a car that they later set on fire, local media reports said.
The incident occurred because of a conflict with another group of hunters that had arisen earlier, investigators said.
One of the suspects held has been on a federal wanted list since 2000. Police found at least ten automatic weapons, a quantity of marijuana and counterfeit documents in the raid, they said.
