MOSCOW, December 6 (RIA Novosti) – Four suspected militants were killed in a special operation on Friday in Russia’s North Caucasus Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia’s anti-terrorism body said.
One of those killed was identified as a militant leader, who was put on the federal wanted list in 2011.
“The militant group is responsible for explosions, attacks on law-enforcers and extortion of large sums of money from entrepreneurs,” the National Anti-Terrorism Committee said in a statement.
Police also detained a suspected accomplice, who provided shelter and transport to the group.
