MOSCOW, December 6 (RIA Novosti) – Police in Russia have blocked access to a website that offered contract murder services to potential clients, a Russian senator said Friday.
The zakazat-killera.com (hire-killer.com) website offered, using opaque wording, services including “physical destruction,” or “taking someone to the forest for talks,” provided by criminal gang members, former athletes and soldiers.
It also offered a so-called “bonesetter” service, involving meeting the “object,” tying them up and putting them in a car trunk, and taking them to a remote area for a beating if required. Photos of the job being done are on offer to the client, the website claimed.
The website is run by “a group of kind, sincere and sympathetic people who can help anyone if they need to take someone to the forest and give them a spanking or help in business,” it said.
The site’s operators, who allegedly worked in Ukraine and other former Soviet states, said they guaranteed clients would have no problems with the police as they had links with the law enforcement agencies.
The tariffs for the group’s services range from $1,000 (“slight shaking”), to $1,500 (“serious problems”), $3,000 (“you are in trouble”) to $5,000 (“protection of businesses, brothels or liquor stores”). Potential clients were requested to contact the group via e-mail only.
Access to the site in Russia was blocked Friday, as well as in Britain.
“According to open statistics, in July 2013 the site was browsed a total of 25,600 times,” said Senator Ruslan Gattarov, who chairs the commission on the development of the information society in the Federation Council, Russia’s upper house of parliament.
The website is anonymously registered through a Chinese company and is located in the former Soviet republic of Moldova, Russia’s Deputy Interior Minister Mikhail Vanichkin said.
Senator Gattarov has asked Russia’s Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev to investigate how the site had been set up in contravention of the advertising rules.
Requests have been also sent to police in China and Moldova to provide information on the website’s administrator.
