KIEV, December 25 (RIA Novosti) – Kiev expects to receive $12 billion from Russia early next year in the main tranche of a $15 billion loan from Moscow, the Ukrainian premier said on Wednesday.
“We expect the next $12 billion early next year,” Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told the government.
Moscow bought $3 billion worth of Ukraine’s Eurobonds on Tuesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said last week his country would buy $15 billion of Ukraine's debt in Eurobonds and slash gas prices by about a third, following talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych.
