VLADIVOSTOK, January 16 (RIA Novosti) – A man in far-eastern Russia has been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly killing his mother and stashing her body on his balcony for 3 1/2 years, local investigators said Thursday.
The 33-year-old man, who faces up to 15 years in prison, strangled the woman with a rope in a fit of anger in June 2010 and had been hiding her body in an improvised vault on the balcony of his apartment in Vladivostok to avoid prosecution, investigators said.
During a police search of the apartment, the man finally confessed to the killing and showed investigators where he kept the remains of his mother, who had been considered missing for years.
