MOSCOW, January 21 (RIA Novosti) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov donated two potatoes that he received from his US counterpart to a southern Russian farmer willing to “experiment” with them.
US Secretary of State John Kerry presented Lavrov with two large Idaho potatoes as a gift during a meeting in Paris on January 13. He explained that the state of Idaho's most famous export was recently mentioned in their recent conversation.
“Frankly, I granted a request from a private farm and sent these potatoes to Kuban, where farmers will attempt to experiment with them,” Lavrov said.
