Russia’s leading bobsledders Alexander Zubkov and Alexei Voyevoda have reunited into a single team. Alexander and Alexei won silver at the Torino 2006 Games and bronze at Vancouver 2010, and have a chance to add another medal at the home Olympics.
Ivan Skobrev, world and European champion, and silver and bronze medal winner at the 2010 Winter Olympics, is the leader of the Russian Olympic speed skating team.
The Sochi Olympics will be the seventh Games of Albert Demchenko’s career. Demchenko took up luging during the time of the Soviet Union. He first competed at the Olympics in 1992 as part of the CIS national team. He has competed in every Games since then without fail.
Short track speed skater Viktor Ahn has more titles than any other athlete in the Russian national Olympic team. He is a three-time Olympic champion and bronze winner at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
