MOSCOW, February 9 (RIA Novosti) – A thief who hijacked an SUV in northeastern Moscow had to leave it after he realized that two children were asleep inside, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
“The Land Rover SUV… was found not far from the place where it was stolen. The thief dumped the car when he noticed children in the back seat,” Andrei Galiakberov said.
The spokesman did not explain why the children, reported by the media to be five and ten years old, were sleeping in the vehicle alone and where their parents were at the moment.
The children were unharmed and are now safe with their parents. Police are searching for a suspect.
