MOSCOW, February 21 (RIA Novosti) – A Russian disc jockey stole sound equipment worth $10,000 from a local theater to perform a nightclub gig, police said Friday.
The 23-year-old DJ, who also worked at the theater in the far-eastern city of Yakutsk, took microphones, monitors and a digital mixing board from the office of its musical director, police said in a statement.
“Some of the equipment was found in the nightclub where the suspect was working; the rest he hid in a friend’s apartment,” the statement said.
The heist was discovered by the musical director, police said, adding that a criminal case has been opened.
