MOSCOW, February 24 (RIA Novosti) – A Russian woman who killed her 11-year-old son then chopped up his body because he changed her Internet settings has been sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison, investigators said Monday.
The 34-year-old woman confessed to investigators that she smacked the boy several times with a rolling pin as punishment because his action prevented her from going online.
When she realized that he was dead, she decided to dismember his body and hide it in an abandoned cellar near their home, she told authorities.
However, investigators believe that the boy died not from blunt trauma but from a series of stab wounds.
The mother was sentenced to 12 years, 10 months in a penal colony after a psychiatric evaluation deemed that she was fit to stand trial.
