MOSCOW, March 20 (R-Sport) - Vitaly Klitschko has ruled out a return to boxing due to the ongoing political crisis in Ukraine, saying he barely has time to see his family let alone get back in the ring.
The 42-year-old Klitschko is one of the main opposition leaders in Kiev and has announced he intends to run for president in upcoming elections.
"I'm not going back into the sport," Klitschko told the 112 Ukraine television network. "It will forever remain in my heart, but recently I've had no time to train ... When I come home at night, my kids are in bed, and when I leave they're still asleep.”
"They even go on vacation without me," Klitschko added.
Klitschko abandoned his WBC heavyweight belt in December to focus on politics. He currently leads the opposition "Udar" or "Punch" party.
The Ukrainian boxer won 45 of 47 fights without a single loss since 2003. Klitschko’s final fight was a fourth-round stoppage of Manuel Charr in Moscow last year.
