MOSCOW, March 25 (R-Sport) - Dynamo Moscow have warned Dan Petrescu to start winning if he wants to stay on as coach at the Russian Premier League side.
Dynamo are currently fifth in the table, unbeaten in their last five games, but disappointing draws in the last two matches appear to have caused consternation in the board room.
"If the points are there, he will keep working," the club's sporting director Guram Adzhoev told R-Sport. "We've spoken about the team's play, and it's precisely the style of play that has disappointed the management," he added.
The discontent at the club has prompted speculation that Petrescu could be replaced by Amkar Perm coach Stanislav Cherchesov.
Cherchesov was thought to be on the brink of joining Spartak Moscow, but Spartak's owner Leonid Fedun said Tuesday he had decided to leave caretaker Dmitry Gunko in charge until the end of the season.
Petrescu turned around Dynamo last season, arriving with them rock-bottom and leading them to finish seventh, while this term the Romanian has them hovering in fifth, in the last of five European qualification places.
The last two games were a 1-1 draw at FC Kuban and a 0-0 home draw with Rubin Kazan. Commentators noted Dynamo struggled to spark much creativity going forward and carved out precious few chances.
Petrescu said in September that the target for the season was a Europa League place, which the club appears on course to achieve.
