MOSCOW, March 26 (R-Sport) The Russian Football Union has fined Andre Villas-Boas 10,000 rubles ($280) for leaving his technical area during his debut as Zenit St. Petersburg manager.
The Portuguese boss oversaw a miraculous 2-1 victory at the Petrovsky Stadium on Monday over Krylya Sovetov, who had two penalties saved by Zenit goalkeeper Yuri Lodygin.
A statement on the RFU website posted Wednesday said Villas-Boas had strayed outside the pitch-side technical zone without the referee's permission, which carries a mandatory fine.
Zenit's next game is away to Amkar Perm on Saturday, when they will try to wipe out the three-point gap to league leaders Lokomotiv Moscow.
