MOSCOW, March 26 (R-Sport) - National team coach Fabio Capello is part of a jury that will pick the logo for the 2018 World Cup, chief organizer Alexei Sorokin said on Wednesday.
Capello has guided Russia to its first World Cup in 12 years with Brazil this summer, and recently signed a contract extension to keep him in Moscow through 2018.
The 67-year-old Italian is part of a jury that has already settled upon three possible logos for the tournament in Russia, while the winning design is set to be announced in September, Sorokin said.
He added the World Cup mascot would be unveiled no earlier than 2016.
Capello's new contract gives him broad powers over Russian football, with influence at all levels of the game.
