MOSCOW, April 4 (RIA Novosti) - Russia should review the work of its military-industrial complex to scale back dependence on foreign technologies, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Friday during a meeting on defense in the Siberian city Novosibirsk.
"Currently we are seeking practical measures but I think it would be better to first count on our own technologies and produce what is really necessary and beneficial for our defense industry," said Rogozin, who oversees the defense industry.
He pointed out that in the wake of recent events Russia should rely only on its own resources and gradually revise previous policies of sourcing foreign systems.
"The situation is getting more and more complicated over the tensions in Ukraine and Crimea. Countries that have long enjoyed cooperation with Russia are now threatening us with sanctions," Dmitry Rogozin added.
