MOSCOW, April 16 (RIA Novosti) - Over 300 people went missing after a ferry sank off the coast of South Korea, Reuters cited the South Korean Coast Guard as saying Wednesday.
At least two people were confirmed dead, 164 have been rescued, the officials said.
The rescue operation is still underway. It involves 18 helicopters and 34 vessels.
A passenger ferry with 475 people on board has sunk off the coast of South Korea. The vessel was carrying 338 students and teachers who were on a field trip. The ship departed South Korea’s northwestern town of Incheon and was headed to the southern island of Jeju.
