MOSCOW, May 6 (RIA Novosti) - The US National Security Agency (NSA) called on job seekers in a cryptic tweet as part of a recruitment campaign aimed to attract only "the brightest talent".
The agency posted a message composed of a normally unreadable combination of letters, which turned out to be a coded message encouraging job seekers to check the NSA Careers tweeter regularly to learn about its candidate requirements.
"Want to know what it takes to work at NSA? Check back each Monday in May as we explore career essentials to protect our nation," the message said.
The agency used a system of letter substitution, where one character is systematically replaced by another.
Such cryptic messages will appear on the agency's careers department tweeter every Monday throughout May to attract skilled codebreakers, an NSA spokeswoman Marci Green Miller told the Daily Dot, an online news outlet covering Internet-related topics.
"NSA is known as the code makers and code breakers," she said.
The Internet, however, beat talent. A deciphering website www.Quipquip.com quickly solved the puzzle, and internet users criticized NSA for using an easy recruitment tactic.
