MOSCOW, May 20 (RIA Novosti) – A new Russian high-speed helicopter currently under development may be adapted for military use, a manager at an avionics systems manufacturer involved in the project told RIA Novosti Tuesday.
"We’ve had talks about the military version," said Givi Janjgava, Deputy Director General of Radio-Electronic Technologies KRET.
A KRET representative earlier told RIA Novosti that the company is developing a glass cockpit for the helicopter, known by its Russian acronym PSV (Advanced High-Speed Helicopter).
The new glass cockpit would replace the cumbersome array of traditional dials and gauges with a computerized display that can optimize information and reduce distractions to pilots.
The press service of KRET earlier said that the company will participate in the 7th International Exhibition HelliRussia-2014, where it would unveil the new helicopter.
