MOSCOW, May 21 (RIA Novosti) – The sixth summit of the BRICS five major emerging economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – is due to be held in northeastern Brazil’s Fortaleza on July 15, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and Russia's sous-sherpa to BRICS Vadim Lukov met with Brazil’s sherpa to BRICS, Jose Alfredo Grasa Lima, on Wednesday.
“Lima informed the Russian side about the program for the upcoming Brazil’s presidency in BRICS and the agenda for the summit of this group, due on July 15, 2014 in the city of Fortaleza,” the ministry said in a statement.
The previous BRICS summit was held in South Africa in late March.
