MOSCOW, June 17 (RIA Novosti) – Statements about the creation of humanitarian corridors made by the new Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko are false, the head of the Supreme Council of the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk (DPR) Dennis Pushilin said.

"Poroshenko’s loud statements about humanitarian corridors are nothing more than populism. Not a single corridor has been created," Pushilin said at a press conference in Moscow.

After his inauguration, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko instructed to create a humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians from the combat zone in the southeast of the country, where Kiev-led forces are trying to suppress the resistance of the independence supporters.

On Monday, it was reported that Ukrainian security forces managed to evacuate more than 200 families through these corridors.

In June, Kiev's military operation caused a drastic increase in the number of refugees fleeing to Russia. About 110,000 Ukrainian citizens have fled to the Rostov Region since the beginning of June, and only 48,000 of them later decided to return back home.
