MOSCOW, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Helicopters Company is to present its latest models of civilian and combat helicopters at the Farnborough International Airshow 2014 in Britain, the company’s spokesperson stated.
Together with Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Russian Helicopters will present Ansat-U, a light helicopter designed for training military pilots. “This helicopter is equipped with a remote control system, which can be tuned to a specific type of helicopter and allows to model different in-flight situations,” a spokesperson said.
Russian Helicopters will also showcase the Ka-32A11BC medium multirole helicopter, which is used in carrying out special operations, brand new helicopter Mi-171A2 based on the Mi-8/17 series, as well as bestselling models Ka-52 Alligator, Mi-28NE Night Hunter and Mi-35M.
The weeklong event, which combines a well-respected trade exhibition for the aerospace and defense industries, with a spectacular airshow, runs until July 20. The exhibition is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors and an even greater number of potential buyers.
Despite the fact that visas were denied to several members of the Russian delegation due to Moscow’s position on the crisis in Ukraine, several Russian companies – Rosoboronexport, Russian Helicopters and Irkut – plan to present the country’s most advanced military aircraft at the show.
Earlier on Monday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin advised Russian delegation members to end their participation in the airshow to protest their colleagues’ visa denials.
