FORTALEZA (Brazil), July 15 (RIA Novosti) - The BRICS nations have been speaking with one voice since the first summit took place ago, China's President Xi Jinping said Tuesday at the BRICS summit in Fortaleza.
"Since the first summit five years ago, BRICS have spoken with one voice," Xi Jinping said in his speech at the plenary session Tuesday.
"We have become an important player in international relations," Xi Jinping added.
The Chinese President also stressed that the BRICS cooperation is an "ongoing historical process."
He called a gift the win-win cooperation of the BRICS nations, as well as their partnership with other emerging economies, as this will help to achieve sustainable economic development, and favorable external economic environment.
Xi Jinping highlighted that Beijing "will always be a good fried... of our BRICS partners."
The BRICS countries have dinged a deal on the establishment of the New Development Bank that will be headquartered in Shaghai, as well as an agreement on the currency reserve fund.
