MOSCOW, July 15 (RIA Novosti) - Emergency crews in the Russian capital have finished a rescue operation at the site of a subway train crash that killed at least 21 people, Russia's Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said on Tuesday.
"Rescue work has been complete," Puchkov said during a conference call with his deputies and Moscow city officials.
"All [subway] systems must operate as in a regular regime in 30 hours," the minister said.
A total of 21 people were killed and 136 hospitalized, including 42 in critical condition, when a subway train derailed during the morning rush hour on Tuesday.
All the passengers trapped in the underground tunnel following the derailment have been evacuated by now.
A day of mourning has been declared in Moscow for those who died in the deadly accident.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
