VIENNA, July 18 (RIA Novosti) – The observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will ensure international presence at the crash site of a Malaysia Airlines aircraft in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, a diplomatic source in the OSCE said on Friday.
"They will ensure international presence at the crash site until international aviation experts arrive," the source said.
Earlier the same day, the press service of the OSCE reported that 30 members of the Special OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine would arrive at the scene in the evening on Friday or Saturday. Their base is supposed to be in Donetsk.
The press service also specified that there will be no forensic or aviation experts in the team, and the organization should not interfere in the work of specialists.
On Thursday, a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down near the town of Torez in the Donetsk Region, there were no survivors among 295 people on board.
Ukrainian authorities and Malaysia Airlines are investigating the incident. Various international observers, including the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) and Interpol experts, also intend to join the investigation of the case.
