MOSCOW, July 19 (RIA Novosti) – The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) will send two Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft and a medical team of 15 people to Ukraine to assist the specialists who are already investigating the crash scene of MH 17, the Sun Daily newspaper reported Saturday.
"We are fully prepared to assist where we can," MAF chief General Tan Sri Zulkefli Mohd Zin said.
On Friday night, a group of Malaysian specialists, who will carry out the investigation of the tragedy, was dispatched to Kiev from Kuala Lumpur.
The Malaysia Airlines plane flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed on Thursday near the town of Torez in Ukraine’s Donetsk Region, the death toll is 298 people.
Rescuers have revealed two black boxes from the plane. Ukraine and Malaysia Airlines are already investigating the accident at the site, with the help of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which ensures international presence.
The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), Interpol, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are also planning to join the investigation.
