BUENOS AIRES, July 23 (RIA Novosti) - Peru's Prime Minister René Cornejo has resigned, Peruvian radio RPP reported Tuesday.
Peru's President Ollanta Humala has already signed Cornejo's resignation and is expected swear in Ana Jara, currently labor minister, within hours, the radio said.
Cornejo headed the cabinet since February and is the fifth prime minister to leave the post since Humala took office in 2011.
Local media say Cornejo was involved in a scandal surrounding one of his aides, who had allegedly set out a campaign to discriminate a congressman in opposition, Víctor Andrés García Belaúnde.
