Traditionally the celebration of the Navy Day in Russia begins with the formal personnel assembly at the naval bases and the ceremonial raising of St. Andrew's colors.
On that day naval reviews and military sports festivals take place at the basing sites of the Russian Northern Fleet, Pacific Fleet, Baltic Fleet, Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla.
