DONETSK, July 29 (RIA Novosti) - East Ukraine independence supporters could ban the access of OSCE experts to the Malaysian plane crash site and turn to specialists from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for assistance in the probe, a spokesperson for the Donetsk People’s Republic said Tuesday.
“The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe was not a neutral side from the very beginning [of the investigation] and acted in the interests of Kiev authorities,” Klavdia Kulbatskaya said citing a high-ranking member of the DPR government.
According to DPR authorities, OSCE experts have been making efforts to stall their mission under various pretexts for the entire last week, interfering with armed militia operations and helping Kiev to prepare a new offensive in the area.
“We have been lured into a trap with international mediators acting as a ‘human shield’ for the Ukrainian army,” the official said.
The spokesman said independence supporters plan to attract representatives of the Shanghai group and organizations of the Asia-Pacific Region to the crash investigation.
“As it turned out, the OSCE is a structure that is absolutely controlled by the United States. And it is impossible to reach an agreement with Americans. They have been always violating their obligations,” he said.
SCO is a Eurasian political, economic and military organization founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan are currently observer members.
