MOSCOW, August 2 (RIA Novosti) – Interpol put Ukraine’s former Energy Minister Eduard Stavytskyi on the wanted list; corresponding information has been published on the organization’s website.
According to the information provided by Interpol, Stavytskyi is wanted by the Ukrainian judicial authorities on charges including “misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by malversation, if committed in respect of an especially gross amount, or by an organized group.”
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office put Stavytskyi on the wanted list in March. A criminal case was opened against the former energy minister.
Stavytskyi is wanted in Ukraine in connection with the criminal charges earlier filed against the owner of the group of companies East European Energy Company (VETEK), Serhiy Kurchenko. Kurchenko is accused of acquisition of property, which belongs to SC Ukrgasproduction, a subsidiary of the state-owned energy giant Naftogaz.
