MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) - With each year the Russian Defense Ministry is organizing more and more military competitions, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday.
“In 2014 we have already had eight competitions, which is almost three times more than in 2013,” the defense minister said.
According to Shoigu, the status of the competitions is increasing in addition to their number.
One of the most recent contests was Russia’s Aviadarts international air force crew competition, with the international portion of the competition taking place from July 22 to 28.
Shoigu noted that the competition included the 39 best air force crews from Russia, Belarus and China, with more than 116 planes and helicopters deployed.
The Aviadarts participants demonstrated their flying and shooting skills. Shoigu praised the strong performance of the Russian contestants, and set the task of creating a special group that would communicate the pilots and crews’ feedback on the military hardware to industry professionals.
